07. Oct 2021.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the United States of America, Marko Đurić, talked with Senator Mike Rounds, a member of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.

Speaking about Serbia's priorities in relations with the United States, Ambassador Đurić emphasized that our country is firmly committed to strengthening the partnership with the United States in all areas of mutual interest.

In terms of cooperation between the Serbian and American armed forces, Đurić emphasized the importance of a large number of joint military exercises and activities on a regular annual level.

He also specified that the center of cooperation in the field of defense is the partnership between the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard.

In that context, the ambassador informed his interlocutor that this year, in addition to the 140th anniversary of the official establishment of bilateral relations between Serbia and the United States, 15 years of cooperation between Serbia and Ohio are being marked through the State Partnership Program.

Ambassador Đurić and Senator Rounds also talked about the recent events in our southern province, where Đurić reiterated his satisfaction with the peacetime battle that our team led by President Aleksandar Vučić and Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, won last week.

"The compromise in Brussels is an important and significant achievement, and we are grateful to the American partners for contributing to a mutually acceptable solution in this case, but also for recognizing the issues we insist on, such as the lack of implementation of the agreement", Đurić concluded.
