Dačić meets with Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom Cleverly

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dačić met today with Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom James Cleverly in the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Council in the city of Lodz, Poland.

They discussed mutual interest and readiness in further deepening and strengthening the cooperation between Serbia and the United Kingdom in all fields of interests to the two countries.

In the context of mutual desire for further intensifying the political dialogue at the highest level, Minister Dačić expressed his readiness for continuing his talks with senior officials of the UK and improving the cooperation in various fields, including in multilateral organisations such as OSCE, which were crucial for peace and stability in Europe.

As reported, matters concerning bilateral political and economic cooperation and current international issues were discussed.

Minister Dačić and Foreign Secretary Cleverly agreed that there was still a lot of room for improvement and promotion of bilateral cooperation, in particular by promoting positive examples of past alliances between the two countries.

Minister Dačić highlighted that this year marked the 185th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations with the United Kingdom, and used the opportunity to invite Foreign Secretary Cleverly for a bilateral visit to Serbia.
