Đurić Confers with Deputy Prime Minister of Samoa in New York

The meeting focused on strengthening political dialogue and further advancing cooperation, particularly in the fields of information technology and education.

Minister Đurić noted that Serbia would seek to support Pacific Island countries in their efforts at the international level, particularly in strengthening resilience to natural disasters. He added that Serbia stands ready, within its capabilities, to contribute to the work of the Pacific Resilience Facility by supporting projects aimed at strengthening the capacity of local communities to address these challenges.

Đurić expressed particular satisfaction with the confirmation of Samoa’s participation in the Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade, noting that the event would also provide an opportunity for a high-level delegation from Samoa to visit Belgrade.

In the field of education, Minister Đurić highlighted the importance of the “World in Serbia” programme, which for more than 15 years has provided students from numerous countries with the opportunity to pursue higher education in Serbia and has made an important contribution to strengthening Serbia’s ties with different parts of the world and fostering lasting connections.
