Đurić confers with the National Security Adviser to the UK Prime Minister, Powell
The Serbian Foreign Minister recalled the importance Serbia attaches to the historical ties between the two nations and underlined Serbia’s commitment to deepening its relations with the United Kingdom.
Expressing satisfaction with the intensified political dialogue between the two countries in recent months, in the context of strengthening overall bilateral relations, Minister Đurić voiced hope that the mutual interest expressed by both sides in developing a strategic dialogue will be translated into concrete steps in the period ahead.
He also reflected on the United Kingdom’s chairmanship of this year’s Berlin Process and conveyed impressions from the recent meeting of foreign ministers of the Western Balkans in Belfast, where current issues of regional significance were discussed.
Addressing the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, Đurić informed his guest of the ongoing physical and legal pressures targeting the Serbian population in the southern Serbian province, as well as Pristina’s unwillingness to hear the other side in the dialogue and to fulfil the obligations arising from agreements reached thus far.
