Đurić confers with the Secretary General of the OAS in New York

On the margins of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met with the Secretary General of the Organization of American States, Albert Ramdin.

Minister Đurić conveyed that Serbia attaches immense importance to the activities of the OAS, where it has held observer status since 2002, underscoring that our country seeks to strengthen cooperation with the member states of this forum. He emphasized that intensifying relations with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean is of particular importance to Serbia.

The Minister noted the value of the fact that within the OAS there are a number of friendly countries with which Serbia shares common values, especially highlighting those that demonstrate understanding of Serbia’s position in safeguarding its vital national interests.

During today’s meeting, Minister Đurić stated that it would be a great honor for Serbia to host Secretary General Ramdin during the Specialized Expo 2027, and stressed that the participation of as many OAS member states as possible in this event would be of utmost importance.
