Đurić: Intensifying bilateral relations with Georgia

On the margins of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maka Bochorishvili to discuss issues of importance for advancing cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Đurić recalled that Serbia and Georgia marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, expressing pride in the fact that ties between the two states are founded on friendship, as well as on the cultural, religious, and historical closeness of their peoples.

He underlined that there is significant potential for strengthening economic cooperation, to which the recently established direct air route between Belgrade and Tbilisi will greatly contribute.

Minister Đurić welcomed Georgia’s decision to participate in the Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, expressing confidence that this event will further deepen ties between the two countries.

The meeting was also attended by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Marko Čadež.
