The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, today hosted a group of forty students from the Brussels branch of the American University Center, who are on a study visit to Serbia to gain deeper insight into the political, economic, and social developments in our country and the wider region.

Minister Đurić expressed satisfaction at having the opportunity to speak with young people preparing for careers in international affairs, noting that dialogue and the exchange of views with future leaders are among the best ways to strengthen mutual understanding.

In his address to the students, the Minister outlined Serbia’s key foreign policy priorities, underscoring that the process of European integration remains one of the country’s strategic goals and an important framework for continued reforms and the modernization of society.

Speaking about regional policy, Minister Đurić emphasized that preserving peace and stability is one of Serbia’s foremost concerns, alongside the principled commitment to the country’s political and military neutrality.

With regard to Kosovo and Metohija, Minister Đurić recalled that this is Serbia’s most important national issue and one of the greatest challenges the country faces, stressing that Belgrade approaches its resolution guided by the principles of international law.

On economic achievements, Đurić highlighted that over the past decade Serbia has more than doubled its gross domestic product and maintained stable annual growth of around four percent, which has significantly contributed to Serbia being recognized today as a reliable and predictable partner.

He also pointed to Serbia’s efforts to preserve its cultural identity, language, and traditions, as well as to advance demographic policies and create conditions for young people to remain in the country.

In the concluding part of the meeting, Minister Đurić answered numerous questions from the students, demonstrating his readiness to present Serbia’s positions on current international issues and the challenges facing the region through open and constructive dialogue.
