Đurić: Serbia and India Committed to Further Strengthening Comprehensive Cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Marko Đurić met today with Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India Sibi George, who is visiting Serbia to participate in the Ninth Round of Bilateral Political Consultations between the two ministries.

Minister Đurić emphasized that Serbia remains firmly committed to further strengthening its comprehensive cooperation with India through the intensification of political dialogue and contacts at the high and highest levels. He welcomed the regular holding of political consultations, assessing them as an important mechanism for advancing bilateral relations and providing fresh impetus for their further development.

Đurić expressed satisfaction with the recent visit of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to India and his participation in the Artificial Intelligence Summit in New Delhi, stressing that Serbia thereby reaffirmed its strong commitment to the development of this field, including through the presentation of its national capabilities at the highest level.

He also recalled his recent meeting with India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, in Munich and expressed hope that he would visit Serbia in the near future.

The Serbian Foreign Minister expressed Serbia’s gratitude for India’s consistent support for the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, as well as for its principled position of non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, expressing confidence that this position would remain unchanged.

Speaking about economic cooperation, Đurić underlined that Serbia is an economically stable country focused on dynamic growth and substantial investments in infrastructure projects, and noted that, in this context, he sees considerable potential for enhancing cooperation with India.

Minister Đurić thanked India for confirming its participation in the Specialized Expo 2027 Belgrade, assessing that this would make a significant contribution to the further strengthening of bilateral relations, while also providing India with an opportunity to showcase its potential to the broader international community.
