Serbia and Panama Seek to Further Strengthen Bilateral Ties

During the meeting, the Foreign Ministers of Serbia and Panama signed two documents: the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Panama on the Mutual Abolition of Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports, and the Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama.

The two Ministers agreed that these agreements, building on the traditionally friendly relations between their countries, would pave the way for even more fruitful cooperation and closer ties between their respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs and peoples.

The Serbian Foreign Minister extended an invitation to the Republic of Panama to participate in the Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade, emphasising that its participation would provide significant impetus to the further development of cooperation between Serbia and Panama. He noted that the prestigious international event would also offer Panama an opportunity to showcase its rich cultural heritage, tourism attractions and economic potential.

Minister Đurić congratulated his hosts and his Panamanian counterpart on the successful organisation of the meetings of the Association of Caribbean States and the Organization of American States, stressing that Serbia’s participation clearly demonstrates its commitment to maintaining the established practice of engagement at such international forums.

Đurić reaffirmed Serbia’s readiness to further advance bilateral cooperation with Panama and intensify high-level political dialogue as an important means of achieving this objective. On this occasion, he also invited his Panamanian counterpart to pay a visit to the Republic of Serbia in the period ahead.
