Political relations
The long tradition of friendly bilateral relations is characterised by mutual understanding and interest in improving political dialogue and overall cooperation in the bilateral and multilateral field.
The then President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić attended the opening of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August 2016. In June 2012 he attended the UN Sustainable Development Conference in Rio de Janeiro.
The then First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić attended the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro on 1 January 2019.
According to information published on the website of the Office of the President of the Republic of Serbia, President Aleksandar Vučić met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit, held in India from 16 to 19 February 2026.
On 26 June 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić paid an official visit to Brazil, where he held talks with Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira on bilateral political relations and matters of mutual interest, with a particular focus on cooperation at the multilateral level, as well as economic cooperation and cooperation in other areas.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met with Maria Laura da Rocha, Secretary-General for Foreign Policy at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of the 55th OAS General Assembly in Antigua and Barbuda on 27 June 2025.
Maria Laura da Rocha, Secretary-General for Foreign Policy at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited Belgrade on 9 October 2025. During the visit, bilateral political consultations were held, led on the Serbian side by Deputy Head of Mission Dušan Jović. On the occasion of the visit, the Secretary-General of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Serbia signed an Extradition Treaty.
Economic relations
According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the total trade exchange with Brazil in 2025 amounted to €179.9 million, of which €43.5 million referred to exports from the Republic of Serbia and €136.4 million to imports.

The Extradition Treaty between the Republic of Serbia and the Federative Republic of Brazil was signed in Belgrade in October 2025.
