Political relations
Bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and Iceland remain underdeveloped, as does political dialogue between the two countries.
The then President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, met with the then Prime Minister of Iceland, Katrín Jakobsdóttir, on the sidelines of the European Political Community Summit in October 2023.
The then First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, met with Icelandic Minister for Foreign Affairs Þórdís Kolbrún Gylfadóttir on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Łódź on 1 December 2022.
The then Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, met with the then Icelandic Minister for Foreign Affairs, Þórdís Kolbrún Gylfadóttir, on the sidelines of the Council of Europe Ministerial Session in Turin on 20 May 2022.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Kingdom of Norway is also accredited to Iceland on a non-residential basis, with the Embassy based in Oslo. Iceland covers the Republic of Serbia on a non-residential basis through its Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Economic relations
According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the total trade exchange with Iceland in 2025 amounted to €5.1 million, of which €3.9 million referred to exports from the Republic of Serbia and €1.2 million to imports.
Bilateral agreements
Three bilateral agreements are currently in force:
1. Amendment to the Agreement on Agricultural Products between the Republic of Serbia and Iceland — in force since 28 May 2021.
2. Agreement on Agricultural Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Iceland, forming an integral part of the EFTA Agreement under D-33/10 — in force since 1 October 2010.
3. Trade Agreement between Yugoslavia and Iceland — in force since 3 March 1966.
