Rabat: Ambassador Bauer on cooperation between Serbia and Morocco in the field of culture

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Morocco, Ivan Bauer, met with Nadia El Hnot, Director for Cooperation and Cultural Action at the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The interlocutors talked about marking the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Morocco next year. Ambassador Bauer said that it would be a good opportunity for a greater cultural, historical and scientific representation of Serbia in Morocco and Morocco in Serbia, which will enable a better acquaintance of the two countries and peoples.

The initiative of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and Morocco, Nikola Selaković and Naser Burita, to declare 2022 the "Year of Serbia in Morocco" and the "Year of Morocco in Serbia" was considered. As part of the jubilee of establishing diplomatic relations, it was mutually assessed as opportune for the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Morocco to issue appropriate commemorative stamps.

Ambassador Bauer proposed several events, such as organizing exhibitions, scientific gatherings, concerts, participation in the book fair, translating works by Serbian writers, presenting the Serbian film, music and other forms of Serbian artistic and cultural creation.

He pointed out the great interest of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia for the realization of the mentioned activities.

During the conversation, the desire was expressed to create a legal framework for cooperation between certain cultural and educational institutions, which would also encourage further development of mutual relations.

One of the topics of conversation was the exchange of students. In this regard, Ambassador Bauer expressed hope that the number of students within the project "World in Serbia" in the coming period will increase, expressing the desire to achieve cooperation between the universities of the two countries and to explore opportunities for student exchange in archeology, foreign language, etc.

The interlocutors also discussed the possibilities for connecting the cities of Belgrade and Rabat, Novi Sad and Meknes, Subotica and Fes, as well as AP Vojvodina and the Casablanca-Settat region.

At the end of the talks, satisfaction was expressed due to the successful cooperation between Serbia and Morocco so far, and the expectation was expressed that the activities aimed at strengthening mutual cooperation will be further intensified in the coming period.
