The State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nevena Jovanović, met today in Trieste with State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski.

The prominent level of bilateral relations between Serbia and Poland was highlighted, with a shared assessment that there is clear scope and mutual readiness for their further deepening. Particular emphasis was placed on Serbia’s strong appreciation for Poland’s continuous support for its European path and for the European Union’s enlargement policy towards the Western Balkans region.

Jovanović underscored that Serbia values Poland’s support for the Belgrade–Pristina dialogue, expressing the expectation that the Polish side will show understanding for Serbia’s positions and condemn all unilateral actions by the Provisional Institutions in Pristina that result in numerous violations of the fundamental human rights of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.

Jovanović and Bartoszewski also pointed to the importance of further strengthening economic cooperation, particularly in the fields of modern technologies and energy, as well as the need to deepen cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.

They also exchanged views on current geopolitical developments and global security challenges, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, respect for international law, and multilateral cooperation as key instruments for preserving peace, stability, and sustainable development.
