Kozarev attends Opening of International Education Conference in Jerusalem

A delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, led by Secretary General Dušan Kozarev and including the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the State of Israel, Miroljub Petrović, attended today the opening of the three-day international conference entitled “Personalization in Education for the Era of Artificial Intelligence.” The conference is being held as part of the “Future of Education: EducAItion 2026” Summit at the International Convention Center in Jerusalem, State of Israel.

The conference was formally opened by Israel’s Minister of Education, Yoav Kisch, and the Mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Lion. The audience was also addressed by Professor Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills at the OECD, and Yossi Matias, Vice President and Head of Research at Google.

In his remarks, Minister Kisch expressed particular appreciation to representatives of foreign delegations, highlighting their courage in travelling to Israel under the present circumstances. Mayor Lion emphasized that the gathering marked the beginning of a shared journey, conveying messages of strengthened partnership and mutual international support.

At the plenary session entitled “From Ancient Wisdom to Artificial Intelligence: Educating Every Child According to Their Needs,” Professors Schleicher and Matias discussed the challenges and opportunities related to the application of artificial intelligence in education, the progress achieved thus far, and the next steps in the development of AI-based learning tools.

The conference brought together officials from more than fifteen countries, representatives of leading global companies in digital and educational technologies, including Google, Amazon, and Microsoft, as well as numerous educational institutions and over five hundred participants. The event provided a platform for the exchange of experiences and the advancement of international cooperation in the field of innovative technologies in education. In addition to the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, participants included delegates from Cambodia, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Georgia, Paraguay, Singapore, Germany, Austria, Romania, Armenia, India, Panama, and Cyprus, as well as representatives of the OECD.
