Kozarev Welcomes New Ambassador of Azerbaijan

In an open and friendly exchange, the interlocutors reaffirmed the high level of mutual trust and respect between the two countries, as well as their shared commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership with a view to achieving lasting results.

Kozarev welcomed Ambassador Taghizade to Belgrade and expressed his confidence that, through his engagement during his diplomatic tenure, he would contribute to further deepening cooperation between Serbia and Azerbaijan in all areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed prospects for the further development of bilateral relations, current global and regional issues, as well as opportunities to intensify contacts between officials and strengthen cooperation between the diplomatic academies of the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

Kozarev thanked Azerbaijan for its consistent support for the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, in accordance with international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

The interlocutors also welcomed the launch this year of Air Serbia’s direct Belgrade–Baku service, noting that the new route represents a further affirmation of the close and friendly relations between the two countries and opens up new opportunities for strengthening ties between them.
