The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, stated that in today's meetings with Polish officials, bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Poland, deepening of economic cooperation and European integration of Serbia were discussed.

Also, the Minister said that regional issues related to the situation in the Western Balkans and ways for Poland to help the entire region and Serbia with its active role and attitude were discussed.

Selaković pointed out that they also discussed the need for the President Andrzej Duda to visit Serbia as soon as possible.

"In the presidential office, we agreed to already start preparations for the president's visit, which is very important for us", Selaković said, adding that a business forum would be held during that visit, which would enable the arrival of Polish investors on a larger scale.

Selaković especially expressed satisfaction that he received congratulations from Polish officials for the results of the policy of the Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, not only when it comes to international relations and regional issues, but in the first place, economic reforms that enabled the accelerated economic growth in Serbia.

"Poland is a country from which we can learn a lot, it is perhaps the best example of what it means when a former socialist country opts for European integration, perseveres on its European path, and after joining the EU makes the most of all the advantages that Brussels provides", said Selaković and especially emphasized the fact that Poland is currently one of the first six countries in terms of economic strength in the EU.

The Minister said that it was very important for Serbia to continue further bilateral cooperation with Poland, but also regionally with the Visegrad Group, and concluded that we can count on further principled and firm support of Poland for our European path.
