Serbian delegation confers with President of Syria Ahmad Al-Shar'a

As part of their visit to Damascus, the Serbian delegation led by Minister without Portfolio Usame Zukorlić, and including State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Damjan Jović, held a meeting with the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Ahmad al-Sharaa.

The meeting focused on bilateral relations, with both sides expressing readiness to renew and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Zukorlić underlined the importance of sustained political dialogue and presented concrete models through which Serbia could contribute to Syria’s reconstruction process—particularly in the fields of infrastructure, education, healthcare, and the economy.

On this occasion, Minister Zukorlić also handed over a personal letter from the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, conveying key messages of goodwill and Serbia’s readiness to further enhance inter-state cooperation.

President Ahmad al-Sharaa welcomed the Serbian delegation, emphasizing that for Syria, restoring bilateral relations on the principles of mutual respect, experience sharing, and joint development is of crucial importance.
