Đurić Confers with the Deputy Minister for International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa
Emphasizing the traditionally friendly ties between the two countries, which this year mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, Minister Đurić stated that he expects the bilateral consultations to contribute to the deepening of relations and the strengthening of the contractual and legal framework as a basis for the implementation of concrete modalities of cooperation.
“This is an important year for strengthening the ties between Serbia and the Republic of South Africa,” the Minister stated.
Đurić underlined that the intensification of political dialogue and the exchange of visits at high and highest levels provide momentum for the development of overall relations, and recalled the standing invitation extended to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Africa to visit Serbia.
The Head of Serbian diplomacy expressed his gratitude for the principled support for the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, and reaffirmed Serbia’s commitment to the respect of the Charter of the United Nations.
Referring to economic cooperation, Đurić emphasized that it should follow the positive political relations, adding that there is significant potential for enhancing cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.
He also expressed particular satisfaction with the confirmation of the Republic of South Africa’s participation in the Specialized Exhibition Expo 2027 in Belgrade.
