Đurić and Hanrahan Discuss Strengthening Serbia–U.S. Relations
Reflecting on his recently concluded visit to Washington - marked by important meetings with U.S. officials - the Serbian Foreign Minister emphasized that the visit was of exceptional significance for deepening mutual understanding.
Minister Đurić underlined the role and importance of the OSCE amid changes in the structure of the international system. He stressed the importance of peace processes in which the United States plays a leading role, and reiterated Serbia’s support for efforts to achieve peace.
The Minister briefed his interlocutor on the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, expressing deep concern over the security of the Serb community and attempts to restrict fundamental political rights, including participation in the electoral process.
The two officials also discussed the current situation regarding the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS), as well as the steps Serbia is undertaking toward resolving the related issues.
