Đurić and ODIHR Director discuss joint activities and future cooperation
Minister Đurić emphasized that Serbia views the OSCE as the most important platform for security dialogue in the region and beyond and underlined that cooperation with this organization is of immense importance for Serbia’s reform process and its European integration path.
He stressed that the reforms Serbia is implementing are aimed at strengthening institutional capacity, highlighting his firm belief in the importance of responsible and democratic institutions as the foundation of a stable society.
The Serbian Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for ODIHR’s cooperation and its contribution to improving electoral conditions in Serbia, as well as for its active involvement in the work of the Inter-Ministerial Working Group on the Safety and Protection of Journalists.
Speaking in a broader regional context, Minister Đurić reaffirmed Serbia’s consistent commitment to preserving peace and fostering good-neighborly relations, while playing an active role in promoting stability, dialogue, and mutual trust in the region.
Regarding the position of national minorities in Serbia, Minister Đurić recalled that Serbia has implemented one of the most progressive legal frameworks in Europe and is firmly committed to preserving cultural identity and encouraging the active participation of minority communities in political and social life.
He expressed gratitude to ODIHR for its engagement across all key areas and welcomed the assumption of office by the new Director, assessing today’s meeting as a strong starting point for future cooperation.
