Đurić Confers with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Marko Đurić met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Amon Murwira, to discuss the advancement of bilateral relations and the strengthening of cooperation in several areas of mutual interest.

Minister Đurić emphasized that relations between Serbia and Zimbabwe are characterized by traditional friendship and mutual respect, accompanied by a shared readiness to further enhance political dialogue and partnership in the period ahead.

Stressing that, for Serbia, Kosovo and Metohija is not merely a territorial issue, but a matter of the highest national importance, Đurić briefed his interlocutor on the current situation in the province and the position of the Serbian people, while expressing particular gratitude to Zimbabwe for its consistent support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

Speaking about economic cooperation, the minister pointed out that reform processes and the economic results achieved have contributed to improving the investment climate, positioning Serbia as one of the most attractive investment destinations in the region. He added that he sees significant potential for further cooperation in the fields of agriculture, trade, information and communication technologies, education, and culture. He also assessed that the establishment of a Joint Interstate Commission for Economic Cooperation would represent an important step toward further strengthening the partnership between the two countries.

The head of Serbian diplomacy also welcomed the recent visit of a Zimbabwean business delegation to Serbia, emphasizing that Serbia remains strongly committed to deepening relations with African countries.

Minister Đurić further underlined that Serbia looks forward to Zimbabwe’s participation in the Expo 2027 Belgrade and conveyed that Serbia will provide full support to ensure that Zimbabwe presents itself in the best possible manner at this important international event.
