Đurić confers with Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs Popșoi

On the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Marko Đurić met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, exchanging views on the enhancement of bilateral cooperation and economic relations, as well as on current geopolitical issues.

Đurić emphasized the traditionally good relations between the two countries and used the meeting in Munich to extend an invitation to his Moldovan counterpart to visit Serbia in the near future.

The Serbian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to Moldova for its consistent respect for the territorial integrity of Serbia in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244. Serbia, Đurić added, fully supports the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Moldova.

Minister Đurić also conveyed Serbia’s congratulations to Moldova on its presidency this year of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and wished it every success in leading the organization.

Serbia and Moldova, Đurić noted, share common values, including a foreign policy orientation toward the European Union. Accordingly, the discussion also addressed the European paths of the two countries and concrete steps in that regard.
