Đurić confers with Romania’s Foreign Minister in Munich

On the margins of the Munich Security Conference, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met with Romania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana-Silvia Țoiu, to exchange views on key bilateral issues, Serbia’s European integration process, and regional cooperation.

Emphasizing that Romania is a sincere and reliable friend and neighbor with whom Serbia maintains comprehensive cooperation and joint strategic projects in the fields of energy, transport, and infrastructure, Minister Đurić extended an invitation to Minister Țoiu to visit Belgrade in the near future.

The head of Serbian diplomacy expressed gratitude to Romania for its firm and principled position regarding the preservation of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its support at the international level.

It was noted that the Serbian and Romanian national minorities represent an important bridge of cooperation between the two countries, and both sides reaffirmed their commitment to resolving all related issues through bilateral mechanisms, primarily within the framework of the Intergovernmental Mixed Commission on Minorities.

Serbia’s European integration was also high on the agenda. Minister Đurić stated that Serbia highly values Romania’s support and reaffirmed that Serbia remains fully committed to its European path and is working diligently to be prepared for EU membership.

Đurić reiterated that regional cooperation remains one of Serbia’s key foreign policy priorities, underscoring that preserving peace and stability, strengthening relations with neighbors, continuing a policy of reconciliation, and orienting the region toward deeper cooperation constitute Serbia’s strategic imperative.
