Đurić meets with Titolo: Serbia open to new forms of cooperation with the United States
Minister Đurić expressed Serbia’s readiness to intensify the pace of engagement with officials of the current U.S. administration in the coming period. He affirmed that establishing new forms of cooperation in areas of mutual interest will remain a priority for the new Government led by Prime Minister Đuro Macut.
He highlighted the strategic partnership in the field of energy—crowned by the agreement signed in Washington last September—as an excellent example of sustained mutual commitment to advancing bilateral relations.
Minister Đurić also pointed to the record-high value of trade in goods and services between Serbia and the United States, emphasizing that ICT services—comprising nearly two-thirds of Serbia’s total service exports to the U.S. last year—serve as a strong incentive to continue achieving exceptional results in bilateral economic relations.
The Serbian Foreign Minister reiterated Serbia’s appreciation for the understanding shown by the U.S. regarding the situation of the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS), as well as for the recent decision to further postpone the full implementation of sanctions against this company.
Regarding the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, Minister Đurić voiced serious concern over the increasingly difficult conditions faced by the Serbian population in the province. He underscored that this already unfavorable position is further exacerbated on a daily basis by the harmful actions of the authorities in Priština, particularly through restrictions on the free movement of people and goods at the administrative crossings.
