Đurić: A new provocative act by Kurti’s regime threatens peace and stability in the region
“This act constitutes a violation of all international and humanitarian norms, as well as of the agreements regulating relations between Belgrade and Priština. The healthcare institutions in Kosovska Mitrovica are part of the healthcare system of the Republic of Serbia, and the entry of the so-called Kosovo police forces is not only unlawful, but also represents yet another provocative act by Kurti’s regime, one that endangers peace and stability in the region,” Minister Đurić underlined.
He stressed that such escalatory moves, coming only days after the violent and unlawful raids on the premises of the Republic Health Insurance Fund and the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, as well as the seizure of the facilities of Serbia’s Post Office in Kosovo and Metohija, are attempts at the violent and unilateral incorporation of Serbian institutions into the so-called “Kosovo system,” which is entirely unacceptable and contrary to the spirit of dialogue aimed at the normalization of relations.
“Serbia condemns every form of pressure on the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as all attempts by the Priština authorities to trample, through violent means, upon the legitimate rights and interests of our people. We expect the international community, particularly the European Union as the facilitator of the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština, to react to this incident, to put an end to Kurti’s abuses against the Serbs, and to preserve the conditions for dialogue, which remains the only path to achieving lasting peace,” Đurić emphasized.
The Minister called upon the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija to remain calm and restrained, while sending a clear message that Serbia will continue to defend the rights of its people in Kosovo and Metohija through all diplomatic and legal mechanisms.
