06. Oct 2025.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bocan-Kharchenko, for discussions on key issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as on regional and geopolitical challenges.

With regard to the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the difficult position of the Serbs and other non-Albanians there, Minister Đurić emphasized that he consistently informs all his interlocutors in detail about the unilateral and escalatory actions of the authorities in Pristina, aimed at intimidating and worsening the living conditions of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. He also underlined that he expects UNMIK and other international organizations to assist and encourage the Serbs to participate in the upcoming elections and to regain control over local institutions to the greatest possible extent.

He stressed the necessity of stronger and more direct engagement by the international community in preserving security, as well as in protecting the rights and freedoms of the Serb population in Kosovo and Metohija.

Ambassador Bocan-Kharchenko handed Minister Đurić a letter from the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, in which he expressed his gratitude for the participation of Serbia’s representatives in the International Music Competition “Intervision,” held last month in Novoivanovskoye, near Moscow.
