Selaković: Belgian entrepreneurs want Serbia in the EU

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, participated in Brussels today at the round table which gathered representatives of Belgian companies which have business operations in Serbia and representatives of three business associations from Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels.

After the meeting, which was organized within the working visit of the Serbian Foreign Minister to the Kingdom of Belgium, Selaković stated that Belgian entrepreneurs were interested and wanted to see Serbia in the European Union and they had complimented on all our efforts with regards to European integrations.

Minister Selaković emphasized that there was a great interest of Belgian entrepreneurs for even greather investments in Serbia due to the advantages our country provides, such as numerous incentives as well as the advantages due to the fact that Serbia has the signed Free Trade Agreement with Eurasian Economic Union.

“It was a pleasure to listen to investors from Belgium who only praised what our country and the Government do”, said Selaković.

He added that during the conversation Belgian investors especially had complimented the Serbian development of road infrastructure.

“Two companies out of seven present here are operating at the territory of Požega municipality and expressed great satisfaction because of the construction of the Belgrade-Požega highway as well as Morava corridor which will connect them to Corridor 10”, highlighted the Serbian Foreign Minister.

Moreover, he said that the entrepreneurs had been delighted by the news that as of this year the system of dual education will start to be implemented at the university level.

Selaković said that the entrepreneurs applauded the initiative “Open Balkans”, adding that exactly the support coming from the sphere of economy was very important because it might influence political circles and passing of important political decisions.
