Political relations

Bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and Republic of Equatorial Guinea are good, but political and economic cooperation needs to be improved. A positive contribution to the relations between the two states is given by the principal position of Equatorial Guinea regarding the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo.

The former President of the Republic Tomislav Nikolić awarded the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo with the Order of the Republic of Serbia on a Ribbon for merit in developing and solidifying peaceful cooperation and friendly relations between the Republic of Serbia and Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

Economic relations

According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the total trade exchange with Equatorial Guinea in 2025 amounted to €2.2 million, with the entire amount referring to exports from the Republic of Serbia, while imports were absent.

Agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations with Equatorial Guinea, date of signing: 18 May 1970.
