Political relations
Bilateral relations are good. Both sides expressed interest in cooperation in the field of e-government development in the Republic of Serbia (Estonia is a leader in the field of digitalization).
Serbian MFA N. Selaković had a meeting with former Estonian MFA E.M. Limeets on the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly on September 21, 2021. On that occasion, opinions were exchanged on bilateral cooperation, the process of European integration of R. of Serbia, the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and in the region. Former Estonian MFA Sven Mikser visited the Republic of Serbia on April 25, 2017.
Economic relations
Foreign trade is modest, with a deficit on our side. In 2021 trade amounted to 24.98 mil. euros (exports 10.52 milion euros and imports 14.45 milion euros). In 2020 trade amounted to 18.80 mil. euros (exports 7.86 million euros and imports 10.94 million euros). There is potential for the development of cooperation in the field of information technology. Two Estonian companies have opened their regional offices in Belgrade: Civita - a consulting company and Nortal - a strategic use of high technology. The E-Governance Academy also has a representative office in Belgrade.
Bilateral agreements
There are six bilateral agreements in force, with the following being of particular importance:
