Political relations
Yugoslavia and Guyana had developed friendly relations and cooperation, particularly through activities as part of the Non-Aligned Movement. Due to the outbreak of the crisis in former Yugoslavia, contacts and cooperation have weakened. As part of Serbia’s activities to renew cooperation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the time Vuk Jeremić visited Georgetown on 13 July 2011.
In October 2021, Minister of Labour of Guyana J. Hamilton has participated in the work of the High-Level Commemorative Meeting to mark the 60th anniversary of the First Conference of Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia N. Selakovic had a bilateral meeting with Minister Hamilton during his stay in Belgrade.
Economic relations
According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, total trade in goods with the Republic of Guyana in 2025 amounted to EUR 72 thousand, of which exports from the Republic of Serbia accounted for EUR 70 thousand and imports for EUR 2 thousand.
