Relations between Serbia and the Kyrgyz Republic are good and friendly, with no open issues. Both sides express an interest in exchanging visits and more frequent meetings between the officials of the two countries.
The then Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic E.Abdildayev paid an official visit to Belgrade on 4−5 December 2017.
Economic cooperation is modest and based on the exchange of goods. In 2020 the total exchange of goods amounted to about 9.12 million US dollars, whereof export from Serbia accounted for 6.07 million US dollars and import to 3.05 million US dollars. During 2019, the total level of trade between the two countries approximated 8 million US dollars, with Serbia exporting goods to the amount of about 6 million US dollars, while import was about 2 million US dollars.
Serbia exports into the Kyrgyz Republic cigarettes, tobacco, fruit and construction machinery. On the other hand, the Kyrgyz Republic mostly exports beans and green beans to Serbia.
The plan is to sign several inter-governmental agreements with the Kyrgyz side in future. It is necessary to form a contractual legal basis, given that only two bilateral agreements have been signed so far:
Agreement on the abolition of visas for diplomatic and official travel documents, and Agreement on the abolition of visas for ordinary travel documents.
