Political dialogue is not intense and bilateral relations are underdeveloped. The then Minister of Labour, Employment, Social Affairs and Veterans Affairs Z. Djordjević participated in August 2019, as a special envoy of the President of the Republic A. Vučić, at the inauguration of the new President of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani.
The economic relations between the two countries mainly take place through modest trade. In 2019, trade amounted to 51.000 euros, of which Serbian exports were 47.000 euros, and imports 4.000 euros.
