Political relations
Political dialogue has existed since 2001 and is of moderate intensity.
The then Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, paid a bilateral visit to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta on 19 October 2021, marking the first visit by a Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Bilateral agreements
One international agreement is in force with the Sovereign Military Order of Malta: the Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta on Postal Services, signed on 19 October 2021.
